I began practicing yoga at my public high school as part of the school’s dance program. Encountering yoga in the public school setting sparked my continued belief that yoga should be a practice that is inclusive, accessible and joyous. My practice is deeply influenced by my study of Iyengar yoga under the late Lisa Rotell and Vinyasa yoga at the Kula Yoga Project where I received my 200-RYT certification.
In my classes I invite students to cultivate an awareness of their inner landscape and to connect to the space and possibility within themselves. I support this by encouraging an understanding of the interior mechanics that construct asanas and by placing an emphasis on tuning in to what feels good in our own bodies. We will sweat, be still, embody our movements fully and welcome our breath.
